Chu Ka
Chua Ka is a deep-tissue massage designed to release trapped pain and tension from the body and at the same time relieve the psyche of corresponding fears and preoccupations.
Using specific hand techniques, each part of the body including exterior and interior muscle tissue, bone tissue and ligament/tendon attachments, is worked in a deliberate and conscious way to relieve tension. Sessions are cumulative so that zones of the body are treated independently, i.e. session one may focus on the back, feet or head. The practitioner and the client work together to bring conscious any fear/pain trapped in areas of the body
Chua Ka divides the body into specific areas called ‘zones of karma’. For example; tension in the feet reflects the fear of being oneself, tension in the calves equates to fear of action, and tension in the knees, fear of death. The face is considered to be a mirror of our fears also as shown by worry lines on the forehead and disappointment lines around the mouth etc. Stress and preoccupations in the mind manifest as tension in the muscles, producing minor or major distortions to our features.
